Crew Completes Fall Season With Impressive Performances At Head Of The Fish Regatta

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. --  The Massachusetts Maritime crew team completed its fall schedule with impressive performances over the weekend at the Head of the Fish Regatta.

The varsity men’s collegiate fours consisting of sophomore coxswain Angella Esposito (Boston, Mass.), seniors Jason Ellershaw (Chester, Mass.) and Ian Parsons (Westboro, Mass.) as well as sophomores Matthew Mourey (Franklin, Mass.) and Devin McNeil (Westford, Mass.) placed 12th of 31 teams in the competition with a time of 14:15.38, while the varsity women’s collegiate fours consisting of sophomore coxswain Lauren Denapoli (Boston, Mass.) and fellow sophomores Delphine Estebe (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), Janeen Manghis (Nantucket, Mass.), Alicia Tarr (Danvers, Mass.) and Danielle Guidry (Nashua, N.H.) finished 27th of 31 teams with a time of 15:51.

The novice men’s collegiate eights consisting of freshman coxswain Matthew Lester (Monroe Township, N.J.) as well as fellow freshmen Maxwell Horton (Malden, Mass.), Robert Ferguson (Mooresville, N.C.), Andrew Noonan (Andover, Mass.), John Bambury (Billerica, Mass.), Dylan Travers (Denver, Colo.), Tyler Fifield (Wakefield, Mass.), Connor Ahern (Southbury, Conn.) and Alexander Jagielski (Guilford, Conn.) finished 11th of 26 entries with a time of 14:07.25, while the novice men’s collegiate fours B squad consisting of freshman coxswain Vincent Ngu (Melrose, Mass.), Horton, Noon, Ferguson and Travers finished 16th of 26 teams with a time of 14:38.07.

The Buccaneers resume the 2010-11 campaign with their spring season beginning in late March.
