COBLESKILL, N.Y. --  Sophomore Dylan Freudenberg (Islip, N.Y.) netted five goals and two assists for seven points to lead Massachusetts Maritime to a 14-10 non-league college men’s lacrosse victory over SUNY-Cobleskill Monday afternoon at the Soccer/Lacrosse Complex.

The visiting Buccaneers (3-8) used a five-goal run over a 12:43 stretch to overcome an early 1-0 deficit en route to an 8-4 advantage at the break, as Freudenberg and freshman Sean Staples (Norwell, Mass.) each netted a pair of markers in the opening 30 minutes of play.  The host Fighting Tigers (2-7) stormed back to score four of the first five goals after intermission, including a pair of man down markers from freshman Rob Neubert (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.), to creep back to within one at 9-8, and after the two squads traded goals in a 10-minute stretch, Freudenberg helped Massachusetts Maritime ice its triumph with three goals in the final 8:25 of action.

Staples added two goals and three assists for five points in the win for the Buccaneers, who also received a pair of markers and two helpers from freshman C.J. Hanson (Melrose, Mass.) as well as two tallies and an assist from fellow freshman Anthony Kurylak (Rye, N.H.).  Senior John Hojnoski (West Springfield, Mass.) chipped in with a pair of goals for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received a marker from junior Daniel Sibbald (Weymouth, Mass.) and single assists off the sticks of senior Jake Lennon (Bourne, Mass.) and sophomore Drew Prowse (Wakefield, Mass.).

Junior Paul Painten (Walpole, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for Massachusetts Maritime with an eight-save effort, while sophomore Eric Randazzo (Tully, N.Y.) made 14 stops in the setback for SUNY-Cobleskill as the Buccaneers outshot the Fighting Tigers by a 39-30 margin for the contest.
