BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Freshman Spencer Low (Natick, Mass.) netted four goals, while senior Alex Patinkin (Providence, R.I.) added a marker and six assists for seven points to lead Babson to a 16-9 Pilgrim Lacrosse League victory over Massachusetts Maritime Saturday afternoon at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Low sparked an early four goal outburst for the visiting Beavers (4-4, 1-0 Pilgrim) in the opening 5:36 of action as Babson raced out to a 6-2 first quarter advantage, as senior Mike Griffin (Duxbury, Mass.) added a hat trick in a 10-minute span that lifted the visitors to an 8-4 edge at the break.  Low again sparked a three-goal Beaver run in the first 5:41 after intermission that led to Babson’s second six-goal quarter of the day and a 14-5 lead through 45 minutes of play, as the visitors halted a four-match slide with the triumph.

Sophomore Kyle Barsalou (Longmeadow, Mass.) added a hat trick as well in the victory for Babson, which received four total points from Griffin (who picked up an assist) as well as a goal and an assist off the stick of senior Scott Schachter (Rumford, R.I.).  Sophomore Phil Russo (Middleton, Mass.) added a tally and won 25 of 29 face offs on the day for the Beavers, who also received goals from junior Alex Packer (Hudson, Ohio) and freshmen Scott Doten (Western Springs, Ill.) and Connor Toomey (Vero Beach, Fla.).  Sophomore Alex Bunick (Millis, Mass.) chipped in with a pair of assists for the winners, who also received helpers off the sticks of juniors Brad Bero (Carlisle, Mass.) and Mauricio Palazzi (McLean, Va.).

Freshman Anthony Kurylak (Rye, N.H.) collected his first career hat trick in the setback for the host Buccaneers (2-4, 0-1 Pilgrim), who also received a goal and three assists from fellow freshman C.J. Hanson (Melrose, Mass.) as well as a pair of tallies and a helper from sophomore Drew Prowse (Wakefield, Mass.).  Sophomore Dylan Freudenberg (Islip, N.Y.) notched a goal and an assist as well on the day for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received a marker from freshman Pat Clifford (Norwood, Mass.) and single assists from senior Dan Langley (Abington, Mass.) and sophomore Adam Palilonis (Hightstown, N.J.).

Senior James Whalen (Westwood, Mass.) was the benefit of Babson’s first quarter outburst in earning his fourth win of the season in goal for the visitors, as senior Ryan Lee (Wallingford, Conn.) and junior Adam Daroff (Pepper Pike, Ohio) each made a save on the day.  Junior Paul Painten (Walpole, Mass.) made 21 stops through three quarters of action in the setback for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received four fourth quarter saves from freshman James Klose (Ellicott City, Md.).  The Beavers outshot the Buccaneers by a 56-14 margin for the match while recording 62 ground balls on the afternoon.

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Boston on Thursday evening to take on Wentworth in a non-leaque outing that begins at 7:00 p.m., while Babson travels to Medford, Mass. on Tuesday evening to take on ninth-ranked Tufts in a non-league match that also begins at 7:00 p.m.
