Prowse Honored As Pilgrim Lacrosse League Player Of The Week For Eight Point Performance

Massachusetts Maritime sophomore attack Drew Prowse was named as the Pilgrim Lacrosse League Player of the Week on Monday evening for his efforts in a pair of season-opening contests for the Buccaneers last week.

A native of Wakefield, Mass. and a graduate of Wakefield High School, Prowse netted five goals and three assists for eight points in the two outings, including a hat trick in last Tuesday’s season-opening 7-5 victory at Anna Maria to go with a pair of tallies and three helpers in last Saturday’s 12-10 setback to SUNY-Maritime in the Fourth Annual Maritime Cup clash.  He provided the game-winner in the Anna Maria triumph and added five ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers on the week.

Prowse led Head Coach Rory Deegan’s squad in scoring as a rookie last spring with 20 goals and 10 assists for 30 points, as he now has 38 career points in 18 matches.  Massachusetts Maritime is set to host Plymouth State in its home opening match on Tuesday afternoon at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 4:00 p.m. EDT.
