Women's Lacrosse Gears Up For 15-Match Slate In Palombo's Inaugural Season This Spring

Women's Lacrosse Gears Up For 15-Match Slate In Palombo's Inaugural Season This Spring

A new era is set to begin for the Massachusetts Maritime women’s lacrosse team this spring, as Buccaneer Hall of Famer and longtime assistant coach Marc Palombo takes the reins as the third head coach in the program’s six year varsity intercollegiate history.  Palombo’s squad is set to tackle a 15-match regular season schedule that features nine matches alongside the Cape Cod Canal.

Massachusetts Maritime begins the 2017 season on Saturday, March 4th by entertaining UMass Dartmouth in a non-league battle for pirate supremacy at Clean Harbors Stadium at Noon EST.  The Buccaneers will also host Regis, Simmons, Becker and Elms in non-conference clashes while welcoming Salem State, Worcester State, Bridgewater State and Framingham State to Taylor’s Point for Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference affairs.

Palombo’s crew will compete at the Third Annual Maritime Classic during the weekend of March 11-12 against rivals SUNY-Maritime and host Maine Maritime, and Massachusetts Maritime will also travel to Coast Guard for a non-league tilt.  The Buccaneers venture to Westfield State, MCLA and Fitchburg State in MASCAC action as well this spring.
