Men's Crew Posts 10th Place Finish In Varsity Fours Competition At Head Of The Housatonic Regatta

SHELTON, Conn.-- The Massachusetts Maritime men’s crew team entered a pair of varsity four boats during competition at the Head of the Housatonic Regatta on Saturday morning that took place on the Housatonic River.
The Buccaneer “A” boat comprised of sophomore coxswain John Hubert (Trumbull, Conn.), seniors Josh Lamm (North Andover, Mass.) and Matthew Mourey (Franklin, Mass.) and juniors Maxwell Horton (Malden, Mass.) and Alex Jagielski (Guilford, Conn.) placed 10th of 15 entrants in the varsity fours competition with a time of 17:44.73, as Williams took top honors in the event with a time of 15:58.27.
The Massachusetts Maritime “B” entry comprised of freshman coxswain Nicholas Laroche (Westfield, Mass.), sophomores Ryan Gilliland (Barnstable, Mass.) and Liam Barry (Wellesley, Mass.) as well as freshmen Gerard Juliano (Duxbury, Mass.) and Ryan Skavis (Shrewsbury, Mass.) placed 14th in the competition with a time of 18:06.13.
Both Buccaneer squads return to action next Sunday, October 14th by heading to Pembroke, N.H. to participate in the New Hampshire Championships that begins at 9:00 a.m.
