Livermore Named As NEWMAC Men's Lacrosse Co-Offensive Player Of The Week

Massachusetts Maritime sophomore attack Cody Livermore was named as the New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon following his performance in a pair of Buccaneer victories last week.

Livermore, a native of Ludlow, Mass. and a graduate of Brewster Academy, netted five goals and four assists for nine points in the two contests, as he shares this week’s NEWMAC award with MIT junior attack Graham Davis.  Cody netted the tying tally with 12 seconds remaining in regulation before scoring the golden goal with 34 seconds to play in overtime in last Thursday’s 10-9 triumph over Norwich at Clean Harbors Stadium, as his four scores helped Massachusetts Maritime erase a four-goal fourth quarter deficit.  Livermore added a marker and a match-high four assists, including the helper on the deciding tally, in Saturday’s 10-9 home victory over Anna Maria, and he currently ranks third on the team in scoring with seven goals and seven assists for 14 points.

Livermore becomes the second Buccaneer to claim the NEWMAC accolades in the first three weeks of the season, as junior attack Keaghan Bartley (Richmond, Va./Mills E. Godwin) also earned the honor back on March 20th after a seven-point performance in Massachusetts Maritime’s season-opening 16-6 win over Albertus Magnus.

Head Coach Rory Deegan’s Buccaneers, who are off their second 4-0 start in the last three seasons, return to action on Tuesday evening when Massachusetts Maritime visits Salem State for a non-league clash that begins at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
