McNeill & Powers Net Goals As Men's Lacrosse Drops 15-3 NEWMAC Decision At Babson

BABSON PARK, Mass. --  Sophomore Samuel Mishkind (Chappaqua, N.Y.) scored four goals and added two assists for six points to lead Babson to a 15-3 New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference men’s lacrosse victory over Massachusetts Maritime Saturday afternoon at MacDowell Field.

 

Mishkind netted a hat trick in the opening 8:51 of the match as the host Beavers (5-6, 1-2 NEWMAC) jumped out to a 9-0 halftime advantage and scored the first 11 goals of the contest overall.  Freshman Owen Allen (Franklin, Mass.) added a hat trick and an assist as well for Babson, which received a pair of tallies from sophomore Brendan Duffy (Duxbury, Mass.) along with a marker and two helpers from freshman Thomas Jung (Vienna, Va.).  Juniors Axel Brown (Little Compton, R.I.) and Austin Fabel (East Rockaway, N.Y.) joined sophomore Niall Dillon (Duxbury, Mass.) in collecting a goal and an assist each for the winners, who also received single tallies off the sticks of senior Connor Flaherty (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) and freshman Matthew MacCune (Braintree, Mass.) on the day.

 

Seniors Ryan McNeill (Burlington, Mass.) netted a goal in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (4-5, 0-2 NEWMAC), who also received a marker from sophomore Ted Powers (Marshfield, Mass.) and two assists from junior Keaghan Bartley (Richmond, Va.).  Freshman Christopher Aranalde (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) picked up his fourth triumph of the season in goal by making one save in 22-plus minutes of play for Babson, which received a combined five stops from junior Jordan Shapiro (Pleasantville, N.Y.) and freshmen Andrew Tymkiv (Oakville, Ont.) and Jerry Baerwitz (Buffalo, N.Y.).  Sophomore Michael Dolan (McLean, Va.) made nine saves in 51-plus minutes of action in the setback for Massachusetts Maritime, as the Beavers outshot the Buccaneers by a 35-25 margin overall and forced 27 turnovers for the contest.

 

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Clark in a New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference outing on Wednesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Babson entertains Wheaton in a NEWMAC clash on Wednesday evening at MacDowell Field that also begins at 7:00 p.m.
