BABSON PARK, Mass. --  Freshman Alex Patinkin (Providence, R.I.) netted four goals and added three assists for seven points to lead Babson to an 18-3 Pilgrim Lacrosse League victory over Massachusetts Maritime Saturday afternoon at MacDowell Field.

Patinkin netted a hat trick in the first 16:50 of the match for the host Beavers (7-5, 2-1 Pilgrim), who scored tallied the first six markers of the contest en route to a 10-1 advantage at the break.  Sophomore Cam Caruso (St. Charles, Ill.) added a pair of goals and an assist for Babson, which netted four goals in each of the final two frames to account for the final score, while the trio of junior Andrew Packer (Hudson, Ohio), sophomore Paul Grip (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and freshman Benjamin Jette (Old Lyme, Conn.) each added two tallies for the winners.  Senior Max Artz (Gates Mills, Ohio) notched a goal and an assist on the day for the Beavers, who received single markers off the sticks of senior Jon Standen (South Hadley, Mass.), juniors Brad Simpson (Neenah, Wis.) and Ryan Kucinski (Cohasset, Mass.), sophomore T.J. Mallon (Manhasset, N.Y.) and freshman Jamie Schmidt (Shelburne, Vt.) as well as an assist from junior Tom Cykana (Minnetonka, Minn.).

Sophomore Will Doucette (Manchester, Mass.) collected a goal and an assist in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (2-9, 0-3 Pilgrim), who also received tallies off the sticks of senior Connor Burke (Del Mar, Calif.) and junior Chris Davis (Cohasset, Mass.).  Senior Mike Saucier (Nashua, N.H.) picked up the win in goal for Babson with a six-save effort in the opening half of action, as freshmen Jay Whalen (Westwood, Mass.) and Ryan Lee (Wallingford, Conn.) combined for eight stops over the final 30 minutes of play, while senior James Hitchings (Dover, Mass.) made 16 stops in 45 minutes of action in the setback for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received a pair of stops from junior Ryan Delaney (Whitman, Mass.) over the last 15 minutes of play.  The Beavers outshot the Buccaneers by a 69-24 margin, including a 36-17 edge in shots on goal.

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Cambridge, Mass. on Wednesday evening for a Pilgrim Lacrosse League encounter with MIT that begins at 7:00 p.m., while Babson travels to Northfield, Vt. on Wednesday afternoon to take on Norwich in a Pilgrim Lacrosse League match that begins at 4:00 p.m.
