How It Happened

Mitchell's fast paced, quick hitting offense was the difference in the match. The Buccaneers would claw back in each of the three sets and the Mariners would snag the momentum and go on long runs. In all three sets, Maritime would be within one or two points but could not grab a lead or stay ahead. In the second set, the Buccaneers Held a lead until the Mariners tied the set at 12-12. They went on a run and quickly took five-point, 19-14, advantage that Maritime could not find their way out of. Set one finished 25-15 and in set two the Bucs kept it closer losing 25-20.

In set three, with the teams knotted at 9-9, Mitchell held the serve for nine straight points doubling up the Bucs 18-9. The teams split the remaining 14 points of the set and that was enough for the Mariners to sink the Bucs 25-16 in the set, taking the match 3-0.
