The Buccaneer volleyball team, led by second-year head coach Bill Reilly, is set for a 20-match season in 2022. The Bucs bring back eight from their 2021 squad including captains Kolby BarbieriIsabelle Miazga, and Marlo Stark

Coach Reilly also welcomes in six freshman including three six-footers to fortify the front line that already consists of sophomore Izabella Mackintosh and Kaila Collins

Alaina Liddell is back for her sophomore season after being one of the most improved Bucs on the court in 2021. Senior Alexa Smith will provide much needed depth for the Bucs this season.

Last season, Stark finished third on the team in kills with 61 with Smith finishing in fourth with a .013 hitting percentage. Stark was second on the team in digs with 179, helping the Bucs immensely on defense. From her Libero spot, Miazga provided 140 digs of her own.

As a setter, Audrey Manning provided a team-high 119 assists in 2021 in 64 sets played o nthe season.

In 15 matches for the Buccaneers last season, Mackintosh provided eight blocks and will look to add to that total this season.

Maritime had a rough go in 2021 posting a 1-21 record with a win over Dean College in straight sets. In 2022, the team will play 20 matches and will open their schedule at home with a tri-match against Curry and Anna Maria. They will open their MASCAC schedule on Wednesday, September 14th against Salem State which will be followed by a Homecoming weekend match against Mitchell College on Saturday, September 17th at 6pm.

While the Bucs have a schedule that could see them break their all-time wins record for a single season that currently stands at seven, they will face some tough opposition with a trip to a top 10 team in New England, New England College on October 1st and a pair of matches against Westfield State this season, one in non-conference play and the other in conference play to close out the season on October 29th.
