BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Sophomore Kalia Chase (Northbridge, Mass.) netted four goals and four assists for eight points, while fellow sophomore Jackie Connors (Ashland, Mass.) added four markers and three helpers to finish with seven points to lead Worcester State to an 18-4 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s lacrosse victory over Massachusetts Maritime Saturday afternoon at Clean Harbors Stadium.

The visiting Lancers (8-3, 3-1 MASCAC) broke a 3-3 tie by scoring seven goals over the final 19:50 of the opening half, including three off the stick of Connors and a pair from junior Molly Kilday (Westford, Mass.), to take a 10-3 advantage at the break, and a pair of tallies by freshman Angelina Sutherland (Tyngsboro, Mass.) in the opening 4:08 after intermission helped Worcester State extend that margin to 13-3 en route to its fourth straight triumph.  Sutherland finished with a hat trick and an assist for the winners, who also received two goals and two assists from both Kilday and junior Michelle Tully (Tewksbury, Mass.).  Senior Amy Tucker (North Attleboro, Mass.) added a pair of markers for the Lancers, who also received a goal and three assists from junior Angela Grassetti (Feeding Hills, Mass.).

Senior Hillary Doucette (Manchester, Mass.) and sophomore Janine Prokscha (Washington, Conn.) each scored two goals in the setback for the host Buccaneers (3-7, 0-4 MASCAC), who also received an assist from freshman Stephanie O’Connor (Westwood, Mass.).  Freshman Lea Robichaud (Holden, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for Worcester State with six first half saves, while fellow freshman Krissy Pessa (Walpole, Mass.) made one stop over the final 30 minutes of action for the visitors.  Sophomore Molly Smith (Westwood, Mass.) made 16 saves in her first collegiate start in net for Massachusetts Maritime, as the Lancers outshot the Buccaneers by a 39-15 margin and held a 17-7 edge in draw controls for the match.

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Bridgewater, Mass. on Wednesday evening to take on Bridgewater State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference match that begins at 7:00 p.m., while Worcester State travels to New London, N.H. on Monday afternoon to square off with Colby-Sawyer in a non-league outing beginning at 4:00 p.m.
