WILLIMANTIC, Conn -- The Buccaneers took part in their first of three meets this weekend on Friday at Eastern Connecticut. The men finished fourth overall and the women came in sixth.

For the men, Joshua Rousseau won the hammer throw with a throw of 48.56 meters and finished third in the discus with a throw of 38.61 meters. Luke Dawson picked up a fourth place finish in the shot put with a best throw of 12.08 meters. In the javelin, Tyler Fountain finished fifth overall at 45.27 meters. 

On the women's side, Marchella Corolla finished third in the 3000 meter event finishing with a time of 16:23.96. Bridgette Boriolo finished fourth in the triple jump with a final score of 9.69 meters. She also finished sixth in the long jump with a distance of 4.29 meters and seventh in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:12.37. In the javelin, Jenni Verrilli finished sixth with a throw of 15.91 meters.

The Bucs are at MIT and Regis College on Saturday for two meets.
