Track & Field Finishes 12th and 13th in Fitchburg

FITCHBURG, Mass -- Track and Field participated in their second meet in three days on Saturday at the Jim Sheehan Invitational hosted by Fitchburg State. The men finished in 12th in a field of 23 teams and the women finished 13th of 20.

On the men's side, for the second meet in a row, Joshua Rousseau won the discus event with a final toss of 43.45 meters. He also finished second in the hammer with a throw of 143'8". 

In the men's javelin, Liam Higgins finished fifth with a best throw of 49.85 meters. 

On the track the 4x100 relay team finished seventh with a time of 47.14 seconds. Demetri BoozerSean GibsonLuke Canniff, and Jason Soares ran for the Buccaneers.

 

On the women's side, Alyssa Grieco finished second in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.10. Bridgette Boriolo finished seventh in the 100 meter dash, finishing with a time of 26.79 seconds. Marchella Corolla finished ninth in the 5000 meter run with a time of 27:53.72.

 

The full results for the meet can be found on the track & field schedule screen. The Bucs are at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College, on Friday, April 14th and Saturday, April 15th.
