The host Vikings (9-13, 4-2 MASCAC) took control of both outings in their respective first at-bats, plating 10 runs in the opening frame of the lid-lifter and collecting 11 runs in the inaugural inning of the nightcap.  Senior Rebecca Krigman (Malden, Mass.) collected three hits (including a homer) and drove in three runs in the opener for Salem State, which also received a home run and four RBI off the bat of freshman Dahlia DeCologero (Woburn, Mass.).  Junior Jess Raymond (Peabody, Mass.) added two hits and a pair of RBI as part of a 14-hit attack in the first contest for the hosts, as Burney helped her own cause inside the circle with three hits while allowing three earned runs to pick up her seventh win of the spring.

Sophomore Emily Bacciocchi (Wareham, Mass.) and freshman Brooke Miles (Lynn, Mass.) plated runs in the second and third innings of the opener for the visiting Buccaneers (2-14, 0-6 MASCAC) on a groundout and RBI double, and sophomore Sarah Monteiro’s (North Falmouth, Mass.) two-run single in the fifth account for Massachusetts Maritime’s final tallies of the lid-lifter. Freshman Rachel Gardner (Bourne, Mass.) suffered the setback inside the circle for the visitors in her first career start.

Burney and freshman Kasey Nolan (Braintree, Mass.) combined for five hits while driving in three runs each in the nightcap win for the Vikings, who also received four RBI from sophomore Molly McLean (Woburn, Mass.) as well as three more hits from Raymond as part of a 12-hit attack.  Sophomore Meghan Black (Winchendon, Mass.) struck out three in going the distance inside the circle for Salem State to earn her second victory of the season.

Sophomore Haley Delahanty (Holden, Mass.) and freshman Emily Goodwin (Halifax, Mass.) accounted for the Buccaneer scoring in the nightcap with RBI doubles in the fourth inning, as the visitors also received a double off the bat of Gardner along with hits from senior Brittany Driscoll (Spencer, Mass.) as well as sophomores Kaylene Murphy (Randolph, Mass.) and Mackenzie Barnard (Harwich, Mass.).  Sophomore Carli Thomas (Brewster, Mass.) also singled while suffering the setback inside the circle for Massachusetts Maritime, as she fanned one in going the route.
