Softball Looks To Build Upon Success With 32-Game 2016 Slate In Giammalvo's Fourth Season

After posting its highest single season win total in a decade last spring, the Massachusetts Maritime softball team is looking to build upon that success during the upcoming 2016 campaign, as the Buccaneers are preparing for a 32-game regular season slate under the guidance of fourth year Head Coach Megan Giammalvo.

Massachusetts Maritime is set to begin the season on Thursday, March 17th with a St. Patrick’s Day doubleheader at Wentworth at 3:30 p.m. EDT, and the Buccaneers kick off their home schedule on Sunday, March 20th by entertaining Maine-Presque Isle in a non-league twinbill at Alison Rollins Field beginning at 11:00 a.m. EDT.  Giammalvo’s crew will play nine non-conference doubleheaders this spring, including home dates with Daniel Webster, Lyndon State, Wheelock and Pine Manor and road contests at Newbury, Becker and Pine Manor.

The Buccaneers kick off their Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference slate on Saturday, April 2nd by hosting Worcester State in a doubleheader, as Massachusetts Maritime will also host MCLA and Westfield State in league play while traveling to Fitchburg State, Salem State, Framingham State and Bridgewater State for MASCAC twinbills.
