Galvin Leads Men's Cross Country To 47th Place Team Finish At NCAA Division III New England Regionals

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. --  The Massachusetts Maritime men’s cross country team closed out its 2014 season on Saturday morning by placing 47th among 54 teams competing at the 2014 NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships hosted by Williams at Mount Greylock High School.

 

Freshman Robby Galvin (Woburn, Mass.) set the pace for the Buccaneers, as he capped his rookie campaign by finishing 206th individually in a field of 373 runners with a time of 29:03.9 over the 8K layout.  Senior Tyler Brady (Woburn, Mass.) was next in 278th place with a time of 30:19.0, while freshman Chris MacKay (Bethany, Conn.) followed in 289th place with a time of 30:28.2.  Senior Brenton Andrews (Hubbardston, Mass.) and freshman Ryan McNeal (Canton, Ga.) rounded out Massachusetts Maritime’s scoring with respective 295th and 297th place finishing times of 30:34.5 and 30:36.2.

 

Colby took top honors in the event with a team score of 63 points, while Amherst (69) edged out MIT (70) for the runner-up spot in the competition.  Massachusetts Maritime finished fifth among Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference institutions in the race.
