Women's Lacrosse Preparing For Challenges Of 15-Match 2015 Slate In Bushy's Third Season

With the most experienced and deepest group in the program’s short four year history set to return to the fold in 2015, enthusiasm is running high for Head Coach Leslie Bushy and the Massachusetts Maritime women’s lacrosse team heading into the spring.  Bushy is preparing her squad for the challenges of a 15-match regular season slate that lie ahead for the Buccaneers in the revamped Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Massachusetts Maritime begins Bushy’s third season at the helm by participating in the inaugural Maritime Classic during the weekend of March 14-15, as the Buccaneers will battle Maine Maritime for the Admiral’s Cup in the season opener before taking on host SUNY-Maritime in second round action.  Bushy’s squad opens its home slate on Saturday, March 21st by hosting Simmons in non-league play at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 1:00 p.m. EDT, and Massachusetts Maritime will host a total of six outings alongside Cape Cod Canal, including non-league tilts with Wheelock and Elms as well as MASCAC match-ups with Bridgewater State, Salem State and Worcester State.

In addition to the Maritime Classic, the Buccaneers will be on the road for non-league contests at Coast Guard, Mitchell and Wentworth and will also travel to conference newcomer MCLA, Westfield State, Framingham State and Fitchburg State for MASCAC clashes.
