As one of the most storied careers in recent Buccaneer baseball comes to an end, the honors keep pouring in for Logan Sullo. The senior catcher was tabbed to the D3Baseball.com All-New England Region Second Team today on the heels of a record-setting 2018 campaign.

Sullo was selected as the second-best catcher in all of New England DIII after hitting .321 and leading the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference in on-base percentage at .491. The Acushnet, Mass. native was second in home runs (7), slugging percentage (.658), and OPS (1.149) while boasting the best plate discipline in the conference with 24 walks and only 10 strikeouts. His penultimate home run set the all-time career mark and Sullo finished with 17.

The backstop did more than just rake, however, nailing 23.5 percent of running attempting to steal and accruing a fielding percentage of .995. During his four years, he mowed down 24.1 percent of would-be base thieves.

Those numbers earned Sullo another First Team All-MASCAC selection this year. In his career, Sullo earned two conference Player of the Year awards, a Rookie of the Year nod, and three First Team All-Conference selections. Sullo will finish his career at the Academy with a .374/.499/.649 slash that features 22 doubles, 13 triples, and a 68-to-40 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Wheaton College's Nick Raposo was named the top catcher in the region after slashing .434/.497/.648 and throwing out 27.3 percent of swiping baserunners. Raposo was in the Top 25 nationally in doubles (19) and struck out one time less than Sullo.

Though only one Buccaneer made the list, another came very close. Only 10 starts were listed on the three All-Region teams, and John Teehan fell just short after a dominant rookie campaign that saw him record a 2.79 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 58 innings, winning four games and saving three.

The New England DIII Rookie of the Year was New England College's Shayne Audet, who was 6-3 with a 2.38 ERA and 85 strikeouts to 36 walks in 56 2/3.

The recently concluded Division III New England Regional, which the Academy hosted, featured six First Team, four Second Team, and four Third Team selections. D3Baseball.com's Player of the Year was the University of Southern Maine's Jake Dexter, while UMass Dartmouth's Matt Cronin, who tied for second in the nation in ERA (0.99) was Pitcher of the Year.

New England featured the top three ERAs in the country, with Western New England University's Bob Hamel (0.95) and New England Colleges Nick Powers (0.99) the only other pitchers with ERAs in the single digits. Babson's Matt Noone was named Coach of the Year for New England. The full list of all-region teams can be found here.
