NORTH ADAMS, Mass -- Men's soccer traveled to MCLA on Friday for a conference match with the Trailblazers. Trailing 2-1 at the half, the Bucs got two goals in the second half to earn a point in a 3-3 draw.

• Freshman Brody Calvert scored two goals in the game, both in the second half.

How It Happened

After 20 scoreless minutes in the first half, the hosts scored first in the six goal thriller. Castro scored his third of the season in the 21st minute to give MCLA a 1-0 lead. Late in the first half, Griffith scored his first of 2023, on an assist from Richardson, giving the Trailblazers a 2-0 advantage. Twomey and the Bucs were determined not to go into the half with a zero on the board. Luke scored his first of the season just two minutes after MCLA's second to make the score 2-1 going into the break.

In the second half, it took 12 minutes before MCLA extended their lead to two goals once again on Smith's first of the season in the 57th minute, from Malburg. Down 3-1, the Buccaneers charged hard and less than a minute later in the 58th minute, Calvert scored his fifth of the season from Soughou to cut the deficit back to one goal, 3-2, with just over 30 minutes to play. In the 71st minute, Calvert did it again, scoring his sixth of the year on an assist from Vanti to tie the game at 3-3. Ultimately, though it wasn't easy for either team to earn a point with eight yellow cards and a red cards handed out, the game finished in a 3-3 draw earning each team a point in the MASCAC standings.
