How It Happened

The Buccaneers earned a free kick just outside the box just under a minute into the match. Vincent took the free kick for the Buccaneers and buried the ball in the bottom right corner, his third goal of the season, to give the hosts a 1-0 lead just over a minute in. Four minutes later the Privateers tied the game on a goal from Ozaman from a corner kick off the foot of Callan. The teams were tied at 1-1 after five and a half minutes. Just into the 11th minute, SUNY scored again, this time from Vazquez on an assist from Callan, his second of the match. The Privateers had taken a 2-1 lead. In the 14th minute, Calvert went on a break from midfield, weaving through SUNY defenders, and found the back of the net for his third goal in as many games. The game was tied 2-2 with just under 14 minutes played. The teams navigated the remainder of the first half with no more goals and were tied 2-2 at the break.

In the second half, though the Bucs took eight more shots, after taking eight in the first half, they were unable to find the back of the net again and kept the Privateers to just three shots in the second 45. The second half saw more yellow cards, three, than goals and the teams finished the match in a 2-2 draw, each earning a point.
