MILTON, Mass -- After an exciting win over Regis in the team's season and home opener last Saturday, the Buccaneers men's soccer team took on Curry on the road in a non-conference matchup. In another exciting match for the Bucs, the team jumped out to a 2-0 lead but couldn't hold on as they fell to the Colonels by a 5-3 final.

Inside The Numbers

Maritime

• Senior captain CJ Vincent recorded the second multi-goal game of his career against Curry with goals in the 15th and 39th minutes. 
• Freshman Brody Calvert scored his second goal in as many games in the 10th minute.
• Calvert was also credited with the only Maritime assist on Vincent's first goal of the game. 
• Freshman goalkeeper Kaden Winter made 14 saves and allowed all five Curry goals in his second career start.
• In total, the Bucs recorded 14 shots and had just one corner kick which came in the second half.

Curry

• Adam Pforr scored two goals for the Colonels in the 19th minute and the 21st minute. 
• Giovanni Martins, Lucas Drons, and Ray Weinstein each had one goal in the win.
• JD Santiago, Martins, Naytik Vora, and Pforr all tallied an assist.
• Goalkeeper Brendan Cunningham made three saves and allowed the three Maritime goals in the match.
• In total, the Colonels recorded 27 shots and had 12 corner kicks in the game.

How It Happened

Calvert opened the scoring in the 10th minute with his second career goal to give the Bucs an early 1-0 advantage. Five minutes later, Calvert assisted Vincent's first goal of the season to give the Buccaneers a 2-0 lead after 15 minutes. The Colonels would answer in the 19th minute on Pforr's first goal to cut the deficit to 2-1. Just over two minutes later, Pforr added his second goal of the night to tie the game at 2-2. The first half fireworks were over there; Maritime retook the lead in the 39th minute on Vincent's second goal of the game and season, putting the Buccaneers back up, 3-2. Just before the halftime whistle, Curry knotted the game at 3-3 on Weinstein's first goal of the season. The teams went to the break tied at 3-3.

In the second half, it took nearly 15 minutes for either team to break the tie and the Colonels were the first to the punch as they took their first lead of the game in the 60th minute on Drons second goal of 2023. Up one, Curry tacked on insurance in the 74th minute on Martins' goal and sealed their 5-3 win over the Buccaneers.
