CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. --  Freshman Emily Behen (Danvers, Mass.) netted a pair of goals, while junior Lauren Salem (Westfield, Mass.) added a goal and an assist to lead Massachusetts Maritime to a 3-0 non-league college women’s soccer victory over Pine Manor Wednesday afternoon at Hedley Field.

Salem gave the visiting Buccaneers (2-8) the only tally they would need 11:28 into action with an unassisted marker (her third of the season), and Behen extended that margin to 2-0 in the 61st minute with an unassisted goal.  The duo combined for the final score of the afternoon with 27 seconds remaining, as Behen converted a Salem feed for her fifth tally of the fall.

Freshman Katie Levesque (Wilmot, N.H.) picked up the victory and her first collegiate shutout in goal for Massachusetts Maritime with a four-save effort, while junior Natasha Kopystynsky (Johnsburg, Ill.) made 16 stops in net in the setback for the host Gators (1-8), as the Buccaneers outshot Pine Manor by a 40-7 margin while taking seven of the eight corner kicks in the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Bridgewater State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference outing on Friday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 6:00 p.m., while Pine Manor heads to Lawrence, Mass. on Saturday evening to take on Fisher in a non-league match that begins at 7:30 p.m.
