LEICESTER, Mass. --  Seniors Jodi Theriault (Woodstock, Conn.) and Caroline Plunkett (Belle Harbor, N.Y.), along with sophomore Alycia Dery (Millville, Mass.), each netted a pair of goals and an assist for five points to lead Becker to a 7-0 non-league college women’s soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field.

Theriault helped stake the host Hawks (1-2) to a 3-0 advantage in the first 25-plus minutes of play, as her markers in the 13th and 26th minutes of action sandwiched an own goal that came in the 23rd minute.  Plunkett and Dery (Millville, Mass.) tallied in the final eight-plus minutes of play before the half to give Becker a 5-0 edge at the break, and the duo added goals in the 50th and 87th minutes of action to account for the final score.

Freshman Rebecca D’Andre (Cumberland, R.I.) added an assist on Dery’s second goal for the Hawks, as junior Melissa Rhodes (Mendon, Mass.) picked up the shutout win in goal for Becker without having to make a save.  Freshman Katie Levesque (Wilmot, N.H.) made 17 saves in her first collegiate start in net in the season-opening setback for the visiting Buccaneers (0-1), as the hosts recorded all 35 shots for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Cambridge, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to take on Lesley in a non-league outing that begins at 1:00 p.m., while Becker hosts Fitchburg State in a non-league match next Tuesday afternoon in Leicester, Mass. that begins at 4:00 p.m.
