Sailing Enjoys Solid Weekend Of Competition At Admiral Alymer's Trophy, New England Dinghy Tournament

The Massachusetts Maritime sailing team enjoyed a solid weekend of competition in two different events, as the Buccaneers placed seventh in the 25th Admiral Alymer’s Trophy in Bourne while notching a sixth place performance at the New England Dinghy Tournament at Bowdoin.

Sophomores Graham Philpot (Laconia, N.H.) and Jason Pollock (Cataumet, Mass.) combined to post a score of 103 points in the “A” boat for Massachusetts Maritime during the Admiral Alymer’s Trophy, while the tandem of sophomore Patrick Morrissey (Quincy, Mass.) and freshman Brooke Johnson (Hingham, Mass.) notched a score of 129 points in the “B” vessel for the Buccaneers.

Freshmen Michael Reney (Duxbury, Mass.) and Leo Connolly (Duxbury, Mass.) paced the “A” boat at the New England Dinghy Tournament with a score of 41 points that was good for fourth place in the division, while fellow freshmen Terence Clarke (Durham, N.H.) and Andrew Labbe (Warwick, R.I.) posted a score of 96 points in the “B” boat.

Massachusetts Maritime will be in competition in three different locations next weekend, as the Buccaneers will compete at the 68th UConn New England Dinghy, the 71st MIT Oberg Trophy and the Brandeis Invitational on both Saturday and Sunday.
