Brady Sets Pace For Sixth Straight Week As Men's Cross Country Posts Solid 10th Place Performance At Western New England Golden Bears Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --  Sophomore Tyler Brady’s (Woburn, Mass.) 30th place individual finish paced the Massachusetts Maritime men’s cross country team to a 10th place team standing among 21 entrants at the Western New England Golden Bears Invitational Saturday morning.

Brady, who has been the top performer in each of the Buccaneers’ six races to date this fall, posted a time of 28:00.66 over the 8K layout in helping his squad to a team score of 272 points.  Fellow sophomore Brenton Andrews (Hubbardston, Mass.) and freshman Anthony DeTommaso (Weymouth, Mass.) followed in 55th and 56th place, respectively, for Massachusetts Maritime with times of 28:43.41 and 28:46.75, while junior Steven Migridichian (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and senior Evan Balderelli (Brimfield, Mass.) closed out the scoring in 82nd and 92nd place with respective times of 29:19.59 and 29:43.53.  Babson edged out Westfield State (56-57) for top team honors in the event, while Rhode Island College (118 points) finished in third place.

Massachusetts Maritime will be idle until Saturday, October 27th when the Buccaneers compete in the 2012 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference/New England Alliance Championships to be hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass. beginning at 11:00 a.m.
