FINAL:              MASSACHUSETTS MARITIME 4, SALEM STATE 0

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Senior Stuart Kinsman (Granville, Mass.) netted a goal and an assist to lead Massachusetts Maritime to a 4-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s soccer victory over Salem State Friday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Junior Connor McInnis (Duxbury, Mass.) gave the host Buccaneers (3-3, 1-0 MASCAC) the only goal they would need 12:58 into the contest when he converted a feed from freshman Michael Rouette (Three Rivers, Mass.) on a breakaway, and Kinsman extended that margin to 2-0 in the 34th minute when he took a pass from fellow senior Dillon Jones (Sagamore Beach, Mass.) and broke in from the right side of the net.  Sophomore Thomas McCarthy (Tybee Island, Ga.) collected his first tally of the year just 3:18 later when he took a Kinsman feed off a restart and broke in from the middle, and freshman Chris Beaulieu (Carver, Mass.) closed out Massachusetts Maritime’s scoring in the 60th minute of action with a header off Rouette’s indirect kick for his team-leading third marker of the fall.

Sophomore Joe Cohen (Plymouth, Mass.), the reigning MASCAC Player of the Week, picked up his third win of the season and fifth career shutout with a five-save effort in net for the Buccaneers, while freshman Josh Wilson (Gloucester, Mass.) made eight stops in his first collegiate start in the setback for the visiting Vikings (0-6, 0-1 MASCAC).  Massachusetts Maritime outshot Salem State by an 18-8 margin (12-5 on goal) and held a 3-2 edge in corner kicks for the contest, as the Buccaneers claimed their third straight win over the Vikings (all of which have come over the last 363 calendar days) for the first time in the all-time series between the two schools.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Anna Maria in a non-league outing on Wednesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Salem State hosts UMass Dartmouth in a non-league match on Tuesday evening in Salem, Mass. that also begins at 7:00 p.m.
