FINAL:              MASSACHUSETTS MARITIME 3, BECKER 0

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Goals by senior Stuart Kinsman (Granville, Mass.) and freshmen Michael Rouette (Three Rivers, Mass.) and Chris Beaulieu (Carver, Mass.) lifted Massachusetts Maritime to a 3-0 non-league college men’s soccer victory over Becker in its season-opening match played Wednesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Rouette gave the host Buccaneers (1-0) the only tally they would need 3:05 into the contest on a feed from junior Connor McInnis (Duxbury, Mass.), and Kinsman extended that margin to 2-0 in the 20th minute when he converted a cross from junior Nick Parker (Plymouth, Mass.).  Beaulieu iced Massachusetts Maritime’s triumph in the 77th minute of action when he collected his first collegiate marker off junior Ryan Culp’s (Centreville, Md.) corner kick, and sophomore Joe Cohen (Plymouth, Mass.) took care of the rest in goal for the hosts, making one save to earn the win and his third career shutout.

Freshman Karl Cameron (Jacksonville, Fla.) made seven saves in 60-plus minutes of play in the setback for the visiting Hawks (0-3), who also received four stops over the final 29-plus minutes of action from sophomore Jacob Feltman (Griffin, Ga.).  The Buccaneers recorded 26 of the 27 shots taken on the night while also holding a 10-1 edge in corner kicks for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime travels to New London, Conn. on Saturday afternoon to take on Coast Guard in a non-league match that begins at Noon, while Becker hosts Anna Maria in a non-league outing on Saturday afternoon in Leicester, Mass. beginning at 2:30 p.m.
