FINAL:              NICHOLS 1, MASSACHUSETTS MARITIME 0 (OVERTIME)

DUDLEY, Mass. --  Freshman Rielee Mohsin’s (Stuart, Fla.) goal 8:46 into overtime lifted Nichols to a 1-0 non-league college men’s soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Wednesday afternoon at Vendetti Field.

Mohsin converted a feed from junior Tiago Prazeres (West Hartford, Conn.) from eight yards out in the extra session to keep the host Bison (5-0-1) unbeaten on the young season, as junior Alex Geas (Somers, Conn.) picked up the win in goal without having to make a save on the day.

Sophomore Joe Cohen (Plymouth, Mass.) made a career-high 13 saves in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (2-3), who fell in overtime for the second straight contest.  In his last start, Cohen, the reigning Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, made 11 stops in a 2-1 double overtime setback at WPI.  Nichols outshot Massachusetts Maritime by a 31-5 margin (14-0 on goal) while holding a 3-2 edge in corner kicks for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Salem State in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference opener for both squads on Friday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Nichols entertains Endicott in a Commonwealth Coast Conference clash on Friday afternoon at Vendetti Field that begins at 5:00 p.m.
