FRAMINGHAM, Mass – The Buccaneers traveled to Framingham State on Monday to take on the Rams in MASCAC play in two games that were supposed to take place in Buzzards Bay but were moved to Framingham due to weather. Acting as the home team, the Buccaneers lost both games, 8-0 in game one and 18-1 by mercy rule after five innings in game two.
Game One
How It Happened
Framingham wasted no time on a big inning scoring six runs in the top of the first. The Bucs, unable to score, held the Rams at six runs until the top of the fifth.
FSU added a run in the fifth and another in the seventh inning. The Ram defense didn't allow the Bucs to score in the bottom of the seventh, sealing their 8-0 shutout win.

At The Plate
The Buccaneers batted 2-for-21 at the plate. Rachel Gardner (Bourne, Mass) and Madison Ovadek (Greenland, N.H.) had the two hits, both singles.
Maritime drew one walk, struck out 10 times and left two runners on base.
Framingham racked up 18 hits in game one, going 18-for-40 at the plate. Grace Caughey and Lauren Salisbury each had three hits games. Three other players had two-hit games for FSU.
Kirsten Dick and Camille Derochers had the two extra base hits, a double and triple respectively, for Framingham.
The Rams walked once, didn't strike out and left 12 runners on base.
Game Two
How It Happened
Framingham scored 18 unanswered runs in game two. They started their scoring streak in the top of the first, scoring two runs.
They plated six runs in the top of the second, which started with a Dick two-run home run. Framingham batted for the cycle in the inning with a single, double, triple and home run.
Two runs scored in the top of the third on a Salisbury two-run single.
The top of the fourth was a four-run inning for the guests which once again started with a two-run Dick home run. The other two runs scored on Maritime miscues.
Four runs came across for the Rams once again in the fifth inning, all one singles. Maritime wiped out the shutout in the bottom of the fifth when Savanna Leite (New Bedford, Mass) ground out to third scoring Lucia Buzzell (Quincy, Mass) from third.
One run is all the Bucs would get as they dropped to 0-10 in conference and remain winless overall. Framingham improved to 10-0 in the MASCAC with the sweep.

At The Plate
The Bucs batted .250 in game two, 5-for-20 at the plate. All five hits came off different bats.
Buzzell scored the lone run, Leite drove her in.
Maritime walked once, struck out twice and left five runners on base.
Framingham batted 24-for-40 in the game. Two players went 4-for-4 at the plate. One of which, Mycala Moody also drove in two runs and scored four times. Three other players had three hits, two tallied two hits.
Salisbury drove in four runs for Framingham.
The Rams drew two walks, struck out once and left eight runners on base.
Next Up: The Buccaneers travel to Brookline, Mass for a non-conference doubleheader with Pine Manor college Tuesday, April 15th. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30pm.
