NEW LONDON, Conn.--  The Massachusetts Maritime rifle team dropped a 4207-4046 Mid-Atlantic Conference dual-match decision to Coast Guard in the 2010 Admiral’s Cup clash between the two squads Saturday afternoon.

Senior Michael Surette (Lynn, Mass.) paced the Buccaneers with a combined score of 1,087 points (544 air, 543 smallbore), while fellow senior Kevin Geisel (Gloucester, Mass.) followed with a combined score of 1,075 points (542 air, 533 smallbore).

Freshman Mason Fortier (Somerset, Mass.) added a combined score of 924 points (483 air, 441 smallbore), while fellow freshmen Christopher Bouchard (Fall River, Mass.) and Matthew Cabral (Acushnet, Mass.) rounded out the Massachusetts Maritime scoring with scores of 521 in air and 439 in smallbore, respectively.

The Buccaneers, who defeated the host Bears to regain the Admiral’s Cup in 2009, close out their 2010 regular season late on Saturday, December 4th by hosting MIT at the United States Coast Guard Range in Falmouth, Mass.
