After blanking the Corsairs in the top of the second, the Bucs cut the deficit in half getting a run from a Beechin single that scored Estrada. UMass Dartmouth led the Bucs 2-1 after two innings.
Maritime kept the Corsairs off the board in the third and the fourth and in their offensive frame brought in four runs over the two innings to take a 5-2 advantage. Velzis doubled and Estrada reached on a fielder's choice to bring in two runs in the third. In the fourth, Houston and Vieira each scored on wild pitches.

The teams traded runs in the sixth, each getting one. The Corsairs scored a run on a sacrifice fly in the top of the inning and the Bucs followed that up with an Estrada single that scored velzis in the bottom of the inning and a Houston double down the left field line that brought in Estrada and Pietrafesa to give the hosts a 9-5 lead at the end of six.
In the seventh, Dartmouth pulled back within two runs with a run coming in on a wild pitch and another on another sacrifice fly. The Corsairs trailed 9-7 after six and a half innings. In the bottom of the seventh, Pietrafesa singled which brought in Hefner to make it 10-7.
