Massachusetts Maritime Academy Board of Trustees Award

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass – Our next award is the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Board of Trustees Award. The Board of Trustees Award, established in 1999, similar to the Foundation Award, is presented to a senior student-athlete who exemplifies the true spirit and philosophy of Division III athletics.

The winner of this year's Board of Trustees award is football player Erik Marchant. A Facilities Engineering major, Erik played in 37 of 40 games in his four-year career as a Buccaneer including 30 of 30 in the last three seasons. The defensive lineman had 73 tackles and three sacks in his career. He made a career high 8.5 tackles for loss in 2019. Erik was a key part of the defensive success over the last four seasons. Having come from an excellent high school football program, he was ready to play at the collegiate level when he came to the Academy.

"Erik is a leader on and off the field. A guy who has always had an eye on his future after the Academy with his hard work and dedication not only on the field but also in the classroom," said head football coach Jeremy Cameron. "He is very deserving of this honor and we will miss him more than anyone next year."

Congratulations to this year's Massachusetts Maritime Academy Board of Trustees Award Winner, Erik Marchant.
