GORHAM, Maine --  The Massachusetts Maritime men’s cross country team closed out its 2013 season on Saturday afternoon with a 41st place team finish at the NCAA Division III New England Regionals hosted by the University of Southern Maine.

 

Freshman James MacVarish (Braintree, Mass.) capped his standout rookie campaign by placing 194th individually in a field of 366 competitors, as he posted a time of 28:30.03 over the 8K Narragansett School layout and was the top performer in each race for the Buccaneers this fall.  Junior Brenton Andrews (Hubbardston, Mass.) was next in 196th place with a time of 28:35.82, while fellow junior Tyler Brady (Woburn, Mass.) followed in 253rd place in posting a time of 29:20.55. 

 

Senior Steven Migridichian (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and sophomore Anthony DeTommaso (Weymouth, Mass.) rounded out Massachusetts Maritime’s scoring with respective 300th and 313th place finishing times of 30:28.98 and 31:15.41, as Williams edged out Middlebury by a point (77-78) to take the regional crown and MIT finished third in the 50-team field with 113 points.
