Ramos Selected To Play In D3 Senior Football Classic December 7th At Site Of NCAA Championship Game

Massachusetts Maritime senior defensive back Eddy Ramos has been selected to play in the D3 Senior Football Classic, which will take place on Friday, December 7th at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va., the site of the NCAA Division III Stagg Bowl.  Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. EST.

Ramos is the second straight Buccaneer to earn a spot in the contest that brings together Division III standouts from across the country, as 2011 New England Football Conference Bogan Division Defensive Player of the Year Walter Butler ’12 was on the North squad that emerged victorious in last year’s contest under the guidance of Massachusetts Maritime Hall of Famer and Curry College Head Coach Skip Bandini ’81.

A native of Sunny Isles, Fla. and a graduate of Michael Krop High School, Ramos earned all-NEFC Bogan Division accolades for a second straight season for the Buccaneers this fall, as he led the team with five interceptions while adding six break-ups for 11 total passes defended.  He ranked 40th nationally at season’s end in interceptions and 62nd in Division III in passes defended.

Ramos helped lead Head Coach Jeremy Cameron’s squad to its third straight winning campaign in 2012 with a 5-4 overall mark, as Massachusetts Maritime notched four wins in New England Football Conference play, including triumphs over rivals Coast Guard and Maine Maritime.
