Naar Scores Eight in Conference Win over Fitchburg
FITCHBURG, Mass -- Women's lacrosse, led by MASCAC Rookie of the Week Sarah Naar with eight goals and an assist, picked up their second conference win over Fitchburg State, 20-12.

- Nicole Orlowski scored four to lead the Falcons. Delaney Ponder and Alexis Raymond each scored twice. Jessica St. George, Autumn Tibbetts, Abaigeal Doheny, and Kiley McFadden all scored once.
- St. George recorded three assists and Tibbetts and Raymond had one each.
- Sophia Yates led the team in ground balls with five.
- On the draw, St. George led all players with 12 draw controls.
- Defensively, Brianna Hodgman led all players with three caused turnovers.

How It Happened
The Buccaneers scored first less than three minutes into the first quarter on Dickinson's first of the game. Naar extended the Bucs lead to 2-0 just over a minute later. Fitchburg got on the board less than a minute after Naar's goal on a Doheny score to make it 2-1. The Buccaneers then went on a 3-0 run with another goal from Dickinson, Llewellyn's first of the game, and Smiley's first of her career. The Bucs led 5-1 with 4:24 left in the first. Fitchburg closed out the first with two goals on a power play and on a free position shot and cut the deficit to 5-3 at the end of the first.
Fitchburg tied the score at 5-5 early in the second quarter with goals from Orlowski and St. George. With a little help from some cards being shown to the Falcons, the Buccaneers retook the lead and went on a 3-0 run for the second time in the game. Llewellyn scored on a power play at 11:08 and Naar scored, again on a power play, at 10:28 and the Bucs led 7-5. Durgin finished off the run with a goal at 8:39 to make the score 8-5. Ponder scored for the Falcons at 7:35 on a power play to get back within two goals, 8-6. Naar closed out the half with another goal with six second remaining in the quarter and the Bucs led at halftime, 9-6.
Orlowski scored first in the second half for the hosts at 13:54 and off the draw, at 13:26, Naar netted a goal to put the Buccaneers in double-digits and the visitors led, 10-7. Raymond scored on a power play for the Falcons and made the score 10-8 but Naar, who was on fire at this point, scored two in a row to give the Bucs a four-goal, 12-8, advantage. Dickinson scored to match the Bucs high of a three-goal run at 6:35 of the third and Llewellyn made it four to give the Bucs a 14-8 lead. The Bucs weren't done as Naar scored another on a power play and put the Bucs up seven, 15-8. Ponder broke up the Bucs' party at 4:50 to make the score 15-9 then Durgin scored two and Dickinson added another to close out the scoring in the third and the Buccaneers led, 18-9, at the end of three.
Less than a minute into the fourth, Naar scored her eighth of the game giving the Bucs a 10-goal, 19-9, lead over the Falcons early in the quarter. Raymond and Orlowski went back-to-back getting the Falcons over 10 and then to 11. The hosts trailed 19-11 with 9:48 left in regulation. After five and a half minutes, Durgin netted another, from Naar, to put the Bucs at 20 goals for the game. With less than a minute left, McFadden scored for Fitchburg and made the score 20-12. The Bucs went on to win by that 20-12 score for their fifth win of the season, second in conference.
