The recent run of bad weather continues to create problems for the Massachusetts Maritime spring sports schedules, as unplayable field conditions have forced the postponement of six Buccaneer baseball and softball games that were set for this weekend.

Both of Saturday’s baseball and softball doubleheaders with Lyndon State that were to be played at 1:00 p.m. have been postponed, and no re-scheduled date has been set as of yet.  In addition, Sunday’s scheduled softball doubleheader with Maine-Presque Isle that was to be played at 11:00 a.m. at Alison Rollins Field has been cancelled and will not be re-scheduled.

A final decision on the status of Sunday’s scheduled home baseball doubleheader with Rivier will be made tomorrow afternoon.  Those games are set to be played at Noon on Sunday at Commodore Hendy Field.

The Buccaneer men’s lacrosse team will travel to SUNY-Maritime for the Fourth Annual Maritime Cup match as scheduled on Saturday afternoon, with that contest set for a 1:00 p.m. start in Throggs Neck, N.Y.
