The Massachusetts Maritime football team continues to receive accolades from last Friday’s season-opening 48-13 victory over SUNY-Maritime in the Eighth Annual Chowder Bowl played at Clean Harbors Stadium, as the Buccaneer offensive line was named today to this week’s D3football.com Team of the Week (Presented By Scoutware) for their efforts in the triumph.
Seniors Andrew Bochman (Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth South) and Jeff Wallace (Marshfield, Mass./Marshfield), junior Adam Banks (Sharon, Mass./Sharon) and sophomores Ethan Rooney (Rockland, Mass./Rockland) and Matt Basler (Scituate, Mass./Scituate) keyed an offensive unit that amassed 541 yards of offense on 80 plays from scrimmage, including 257 rushing yards and 284 more through the air. The O-Line allowed just one sack and one quarterback hurry on the evening and provided the protection that helped Massachusetts Maritime run off 41 unanswered points in the second and third quarters.
The Buccaneer offensive line was the only Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference representative on this week’s team. Head Coach Jeremy Cameron’s squad returns to action on Saturday afternoon when Massachusetts Maritime heads to Castine, Maine to tangle with Maine Maritime in the 43rd Annual Admiral’s Cup clash that kicks off at Noon EDT.
