Rosano Earns Second Team NEIBA All-New England Honors For Performance On Diamond

Buzzards Bay, Mass. --  Massachusetts Maritime sophomore shortstop Bobby Rosano has been named to the 2013 Division III All-New England team that was released late yesterday afternoon by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association.

A native of North Reading, Mass. and a graduate of North Reading High School, Rosano earned second team all-New England accolades for his performance on the diamond this spring, as he led Head Coach Bob Corradi’s Buccaneers at the plate with a .392 batting average (second best in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference play) in 30 contests that included four triples, five doubles and 20 RBI.  Rosano, who earned first team all-MASCAC honors earlier this month, also led Massachusetts Maritime with a .520 slugging percentage and a .484 on-base percentage that featured 12 stolen bases and 28 runs scored, marks that also led the squad.

The Buccaneers earned their first-ever berth in the MASCAC Championships in Corradi’s 41-year tenure, falling to eventual conference runner-up Westfield State in first round action.  Rosano was one of four MASCAC student-athletes named to this year’s NEIBA squad, as he was joined on the second team by Bridgewater State second baseman Sean Riley.  Worcester State’s Zach George and Westfield State’s Andrew Medeiros earned third team honors in the outfield.
