Coffey Makes 10 Saves As Women's Soccer Falls At Suffolk

EAST BOSTON, Mass. --  Senior Alexandra Nagri (Salem, N.H.) scored four goals and added an assist for nine points, including the 100th of her career, to lead Suffolk to a 10-0 non-league college women’s soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Monday evening at Sartori Stadium.

 

Seniors Jessica Harmon (Orange County, Calif.) and Jennifer Martin (Higganum, Conn.) netted hat tricks and an assist for seven points each as well for the host Rams (7-8), who jumped out to a 6-0 halftime advantage.

 

Sophomore Julia Fieldsend (Exeter, N.H.) picked up the win in goal by making a pair of saves in 34-plus minutes for Suffolk, while sophomore Sara Coffey (Norton, Mass.) made 10 stops in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (4-9).  The Rams outshot Massachusetts Maritime by a 26-9 margin overall (20-5 on goal) and held a 4-1 edge in corner kicks for the contest.

 

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Worcester, Mass. to take on Worcester State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference outing on Saturday afternoon beginning at 4:00 p.m., while Suffolk will be seeded eighth in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference championships and will take on top-seeded Lasell in quarterfinal round action on Saturday.
