
Buccaneers Lose Close Contest to Curry
BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- Bucs women's lacrosse hosted Curry in a non-conference matchup on Friday evening on Taylor's Point. In a close game, the Colonels were victorious over the Buccaneers, 8-5.

Maritime
- Lindsy Durgin netted two goals in the loss to lead the Bucs. Mackenzie Hawkins, Allie Dickinson, and Tessa Hinds all scored once. It was Hawkins first-career goal.

How It Happened
Durgin opened the scoring in the game just under six minutes into the game with her first of the night. Up 1-0, the Bucs saw the Colonels score twice in the first to take a 2-1 lead heading to the second.
In the second, Curry scored first to extend the lead to two-goal, 3-1. Hinds then scored for the Bucs just over 10 minutes later in a very defense-heavy game on both ends of the field. Maritime trailed 3-2 with five to play in the half. In the final 3:30 of the second, Doyle and Michael scored for Curry and the Colonels took a 5-2 advantage into the halftime break.
Curry scored first in the second half with a goal two minutes in from Sprissler. Durgin cut the deficit to three goals, 6-3, with her second of the night at 11:58. The last goal of the third was scored by Curry at 8:15 of the quarter and the Colonels led by four, 7-3 at the end of three quarters of play.
The Bucs outscored Curry in the fourth with goals from Dickinson and Hawkins and one goal from Michael for Curry. Maritime could not complete the comeback and fell to Curry by a final of 8-5.
