
Bucs split with Pilgrims in Non-Conference Doubleheader
BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- The Buccaneers and New England College Pilgrims faced off in a midweek non-conference doubleheader at Rollins Field on Tuesday. By identical 6-2 scores, the teams split with the 'Grims taking game one and the Bucs winning game two.

- Kelsey Booker recorded two hits in the game and, in the process, set the new Bucs program record for hits in a career with 117. Reagan Kerecz, Lillian Ross, and Eva Warren all had a hit.

How It Happened
The Pilgrims took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a Bayze single to drive in Giesler.
In the bottom of the second, the Buccaneers took a 2-1 lead on Ross's two-RBI single to right field, scoring Kerecz and Warren.
NEC tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the third on a Grime RBI single to score Giesler again.
In the top of the fourth, the 'Grims took the lead for good, scoring four times to take the 6-2 lead that would be the final score.

How It Happened
As they did in game one, the Pilgrims took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first in game two. Catlett hit Panas with the bases loaded, and NEC took the early lead. In the bottom of the first, the Buccaneers laid it on, scoring four runs of their own. Gale reached on an error on a sacrifice bunt, and Kerecz scored thanks to the error. to tie the game at 1-1. Booker then tripled in Gale to take the lead, 2-1. Next up, Patane singled in Booker to extend the lead to 3-1 Bucs. Catlett helped bring in the fourth run of the inning when she reached on an error, and Patane came in to score. Maritime led, 4-1, after one.
After scoreless second and third innings, Maritime added a run in the bottom of the fourth. Patane tripled to right center and scored Booker from first base. The Bucs led 5-1 after four.
In the top of the sixth, the 'Grims got a run back on a Garcia single that scored Olson. In the bottom of the frame, Rubi Butler grounded out to short with Ward on base. Ward headed for third on the play, and a Pilgrim miscue allowed Ward to come in and score the Buccaneers sixth run. The Bucs went on to win by a final of 6-2 to split the doubleheader with the Pilgrims in Buzzards Bay.
What's Next
