Softball Set To Begin Preparations For 24-Game 2015 Schedule In Giammalvo's Third Season

The Massachusetts Maritime softball team will begin preparations for the upcoming 2015 season in a few short weeks, as the Buccaneers will gear up for a 24-game regular season schedule under the guidance of third year Head Coach Megan Giammalvo this spring.

Massachusetts Maritime begins the new campaign on Saturday, March 14th by hosting Lyndon State in a non-league doubleheader at Alison Rollins Field, with first pitch set for 1:00 p.m. EDT.  The Buccaneers will play 16 contests (eight doubleheaders) in the friendly confines alongside the Cape Cod Canal this season, as Giammalvo’s squad will also entertain Maine-Presque Isle, Becker and Pine Manor in non-league encounters while also hosting Fitchburg State, Salem State, Bridgewater State and Framingham State in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Massachusetts Maritime will head out on the road for a total of eight games (four twinbills) in regular season competition, as the Buccaneers travel to Boston for a non-league doubleheader with Wentworth on St. Patrick’s Day before heading to Worcester State, MCLA and Westfield State for MASCAC outings.
