Softball Set To Begin DeStefano Era March 19th As Bucs Begin 30-Game 2011 Schedule
Excitement continues to build around the 2011 Massachusetts Maritime softball season, as the Buccaneers will play a 30-game schedule under the guidance of first-year Head Coach Lindsay DeStefano.
Massachusetts Maritime opens its slate on Saturday, March 19th by entertaining Lyndon State in a non-league doubleheader at Alison Rollins Field beginning at 1:00 p.m. EDT, as the Buccaneers swept a pair of decisions from the Hornets last spring. The Buccaneers will open Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday, April 2nd by entertaining MCLA in a league twinbill at Alison Rollins Field that also begins at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
DeStefano, a former standout at Emerson and assistant at Emmanuel, will see her squad play 18 home contests in 2011, as Lyndon State, UMass Boston, Maine Maritime, MCLA, Wentworth, Becker, Salem State, Westfield State and Bridgewater State will all visit Alison Rollins Field during the course of the spring.
