Annapolis, Md -- Maritime Off-shore sailing took part in the annual McMillan Cup at the US Naval Academy over the weekend and finished eighth in the event. 

It was a tight field of 10 teams as the first and last placed teams were separated by 41 points. The Bucs finished in eighth with 43 points, a points ahead of Webb Institute and were a point behind College of Charleston, URI, and SUNY Maritime who finished in a tie for fifth place. SUNY Maritime took the tie breaker and fifth place.

Merchant Marine won the McMillan Cup with 21 points; Coast Guard was in second with 31 points and Maine Maritime finished third after winning a tie breaker over Navy who finished fourth, each with 33 points. 

The Bucs best finish across the seven races was a third place finish. They were top 5 in two of the seven races helping them to their eighth place finish.
