Bouchard, Fortier Post Top Scores As Rifle Closes Out 2011 Campaign With MAC Dual Match Setbacks To MIT, Wentworth

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. --  The Massachusetts Maritime rifle team closed out its 2011 season on Saturday afternoon by dropping a Mid-Atlantic Conference dual-match decision to Wentworth and host MIT.

Sophomore Matthew Cabral (Acushnet, Mass.) led the way in smallbore competition for the Buccaneers with a mark of 521 points, while junior Christopher Bouchard (Fall River, Mass.) followed with a score of 468 points.  Sophomore Mason Fortier (Somerset, Mass.) and freshman Mitchell MacEachern (West Palm Beach, Fla.) closed out the scoring with marks of 460 and 445 points, respectively, for Massachusetts Maritime, which posted a total team score of 3,827 points.

Bouchard led the Buccaneers in air competition with a score of 526 points, while Fortier followed with a mark of 502 points.  Freshman Diana Kurek (Stamford, Conn.) was next with 469 points, while MacEachern rounded out the Massachusetts Maritime tandem with a score of 436 points.  The host Engineers took top overall honors on the day with a combined score of 4,354 points, while the Leopards follows with a score of 4,217 points.
