Bouchard, Kurek Pace Rifle In MAC Setbacks To Coast Guard, John Jay

NEW LONDON, Conn. --  The Massachusetts Maritime rifle team a pair of Mid-Atlantic Conference decisions to host Coast Guard and John Jay in league action on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Matthew Cabral (Acushnet, Mass.) paced the Buccaneers in smallbore with a score of 497 points, while junior Christopher Bouchard (Fall River, Mass.) followed with 495 points.  Sophomores Mason Fortier (Somerset, Mass.) and Benjamin Goodrich (Chester, Conn.) rounded out the smallbore scoring with respective scores of 447 and 421 points for Massachusetts Maritime, which fell to Coast Guard by a combined final of 4,345-3,748 and to John Jay by a 4,219-3,748 margin.

Bouchard and freshman Diana Kurek (Stamford, Conn.) led the way in air competition for the Buccaneers with scores of 497 points each, while Fortier follows with a mark of 469 points.  Freshman Benjamin Tzizik (Ipswich, Mass.) rounded out the air scoring with a total of 425 points.

Massachusetts Maritime closes out the 2011 season on Saturday, December 3rd by heading to Cambridge, Mass. for a Mid-Atlantic Conference tri-match with host MIT and Wentworth that begins at 9:00 a.m.
