WESTFIELD, Mass -- Sunday afternoon, the MASCAC released their weekly football awards. Buccaneers senior defensive lineman Hugh Wells was selected as the conference defensive player of the week for his performance against Worcester State in a 25-17 Maritime victory.

Wells recorded his 5.5th sack of the season for a safety in the game while also intercepting a pass, the first of his career. He also had a tackle for loss and two solo tackles in the win. His 5.5 sacks is good for second in the conference to this point.

Wells and the Bucs are home on Saturday, October 22nd against West Conn in conference play at 12pm.
