Women’s Track Has Successful Day in Fitchburg

FITCHBURG, Mass – The Buccaneer women's track team got the band back together in Fitchburg this afternoon for their first meet of the 2021 season.

Sophomore hurdler Alyssa Grieco (Revere, Mass), in her first meet as a Buccaneer, won the 400 meter hurdle event with a time of 1:14.25, two seconds off the program record time.

Grieco also picked up a second place finish in the 100 meter hurdles, finishing in 17.56 second.

Junior captain, and distance runner, Camryn Boyce (Whitman, Mass) picked up a second place finish in the 3000 meter steeple chase as she posted a time of 14:57.57.

Junior Lily Hakkarainen (Chesterfield, N.H.) finished seventh in the 800 meter run, finishing in 2:51.89.

The Buccaneer women's track & field team will travel to Westfield State on Saturday, April 17th for their second and final meet of the season. Details, times and stats for that event will be posted on the schedule page at mmabucs.com.
