Cross Country Competes at UMass Dartmouth

DARTMOUTH, Mass – In their second meet of the 2021 season, men's and women's cross country traveled to Dartmouth to take part in the UMass Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational. In a huge field of teams, the women finished 29th while the men finished 33rd.

For the women, Captain Lily Hakkarainen (Chesterfield, N.H.) was the top finisher for the Bucs with a time of 22:16.40 with a split time of 7:10.2. Captain Sarah Smialek (Dartmouth, MA) finished second for Maritime with a time of 22:32.60 in her hometown race. Captain Camryn Boyce (Whitman, MA) finished third for the women with a time of 23:24.90. Right on Boyce's tail, Alyssa Greico (Andover, MA) completed the course in 23:25.70. Overall, the team finished with a total time of 1:55:32.80 and an average of 23:06.56.

On the men's side, Lukas Janulaitis was the top runner for the bucks finishing at 29:00.80 and a split of 5:48.2. Captain Ben Tuttle (Barre, MA) finished with a time of 29:22.20. Sophomore Geddes Donlon (Danvers, MA) finished third for the Bucs with a time of 33:41.90.

The Buccaneers will host the Travis Fuller Invitational on Friday, September 24th with the women's race beginning at 3:30pm and the men beginning at 4pm.
